Romantic Things To Do in Mallorca. Why Couples Choose to Cook Together
· 3 min read

Key takeaway
People ask me what is romantic about chopping garlic together, and I never know how to explain it until they are standing in my kitchen. Deciding together, tasting together, getting it a little wrong together, a restaurant table cannot give you that.
I have had couples on their honeymoon and couples married thirty years come through my kitchen, and it works the same way for both. Something happens when two people cook a meal together that does not happen when a waiter brings it to the table.
Why Cooking Beats a Restaurant for Couples
At a restaurant, you sit across from each other and wait. In a kitchen, you are next to each other, hands busy, deciding together whether the sauce needs more salt. It gives you something to do besides talk, which paradoxically makes the talking easier. I see it happen every session, the conversation loosens once everyone has a knife or a spoon in hand.
What a Couples Cooking Class Actually Looks Like
We start with a welcome spread, local cheese, sobrassada, olives, a glass of something local. Then into the kitchen for a three-course Mallorcan meal, a starter, a main from the island's canon, and a dessert that is almost always my grandfather's almond ice cream. You cook it together, at your own pace, then sit down and eat what you made with local wine.
No group, no strangers, just the two of you and me guiding when you need it and stepping back when you do not.
Other Romantic Things To Do in Mallorca
A cooking class is not the only good idea, and I tell every couple to build a full day or evening around it.
- Watch the sunset from Es Trenc or Cala Figuera, quieter than the beaches nearer Palma
- A late glass of wine at a small bar in the old town, Carrer de Sant Miquel has a few worth finding
- A slow walk through the Jewish Quarter in the early evening, when the light on the stone is at its best
- The Bellver Castle grounds, above the city, for a view over the bay that most tourists skip
Book the Couples Experience
The Groups & Couples experience is built exactly for this, private, unhurried, and adapted to whatever the two of you actually want out of the day. Some couples want the full market tour first, some want to go straight into the kitchen. Tell us and we will design it.
If you are celebrating something specific, an anniversary, an engagement, a honeymoon stop, mention it when you book. It changes how I plan the day.
Private. The Groups & Couples experience is designed around just the two of you, with Chef Paula guiding the session directly.
Most couples sessions run 4 to 5 hours, including the cooking, tasting lunch, and drinks. Add the Olivar Market tour for a fuller day, closer to 6 hours.
Yes. Let us know when you book and we can adjust the menu, the pace, or the setting to fit the occasion.
